Common questions
Does resizing an image reduce its quality?
Making an image smaller loses very little visible detail at normal viewing sizes. Making it larger than the original always looks softer, since there is no extra detail to invent — this tool will resize up if you ask, but it cannot add detail that was never captured.
What is the difference between resizing and cropping?
Resizing changes the pixel dimensions of the whole image without removing any of it. Cropping cuts part of the image away. If you need to change the shape (like square to widescreen) rather than just the size, use the crop tool instead.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The resize happens in your browser using the canvas the page already has — nothing is sent to a server, here or anywhere else.
