Why does my photo have my exact location in it?
Most phone cameras embed GPS coordinates in every photo by default, as part of a standard called EXIF. It’s meant for things like sorting photos by where they were taken — but it also means anyone you send the photo to can see exactly where you were standing.
Does every photo have this hidden data?
No — screenshots typically don’t, and photos that have already passed through some apps or messaging platforms often get stripped automatically. Camera-original photos, straight off a phone or camera, usually have the most.
How do I remove this before sharing a photo?
