Marked areas are permanently destroyed, not just covered — any page you mark gets flattened into a plain image with no underlying text, so nothing can be selected, copied, or recovered from underneath the black box.

Common questions

Is the text actually gone, or just covered up?
Actually gone. Any page you mark is converted into a flat image with no text layer at all, so there is nothing left to select, search, or copy out from underneath the black box — a common failure of tools that just draw a black rectangle on top of live text.
Does this affect pages I did not mark?
No — only pages with at least one redaction box get flattened. Every other page is copied through exactly as it was, keeping its original text and quality intact.
Can I undo a box I drew by mistake?
Yes — use Undo last box to remove the most recent one, or Clear this page to remove all boxes on the page you are viewing.
